The first two photos on this page show the Oxford mast in 1986, the year after VHF 405-line tv transmissions had ceased, and we can see here the horizontally polarised Band I aerials still in place below the Band II aerials.


Here we are, probably the following year, with the Band I stack now taken down.

... and there are the bits!


Now it's 1988 and we see that both the old sets of aerials have now been replaced by the brand-new mixed polarisation Band II aerials.
