Comments: Penifiler is a TV and network FM relay of Skriaig

The biggest town on Skye, Portree, is completely screened from the island's main transmitter, Skriaig. The Penifiler relay serves the town.

At Penifiler a new tower has now replaced the original wooden pole.

Above: the shed, adjacent to the old wooden pole, which appears to be the main 'transmitter hall'.

I wonder how many times it blew away before management agreed to some cables and stays to hold it down?

And who was in the loo at the time?! ;-)
