Pictures from Petersfield, including one of the pretty market square and one of the front of Ottaker's, the building on which the mast is attached.
The site receives Delta FM's signal from Haslemere on 97.1 FM and rebroadcasts it on 101.8 FM to Petersfield.
The lower, vertically polarised antenna receives the signal from Haslemere and the higher one is the transmission antenna. It's quite a job to pick up 97.1 cleanly in Petersfield and so the output of this relay is sometimes rather hissy in stereo.
[Makes you wonder why they didn't use a better rx aerial, then, doesn't it!]The town of Petersfield is cradled in the South Downs with hills all around so the signals from this low site are naturally contained within the local area.
