Comments:

As well as transmitting Virgin, Radio 5 Live and Radio Scotland, Redmoss (Aberdeen) also relays the Radio 4 Long Wave service at 2kw on 1449kHz to cover the interference zone in the overlap of the Westerglen and Burghead 198kHz service areas.

This is a busy medium wave site – no less than 6 services broadcast from here,  all of them BBC up until the early ‘90’s.

There are four masts and one self supporting tower at this site – the tower holds the usual array of mobile ‘phone antennas and may also be home to the FM tx antenna of a low powered relay for Original 106 but my visit was before that station went on air, so I wasn’t looking!
