Comments: Relay of Mendip

Seagry Court is a block of flats on the Penhill Estate in north Swindon. The relay is mounted on top of the building and comprises four vertical dipoles. Unusually for a low power (8W) relay such as this, the RX feed is a trough antenna, which points south west towards Mendip.

Swindon is right on the border between ITV West and Central regions, with a great many houses in the town having an aerial pointing in both directions. This is clearly a leftover from the time when there was actually some variation in programming between regions. Swindon doesn't have any hills as such but the areas of Haydon Wick and Greenmeadow lie in a bit of a dip, where reception from both Mendip and Oxford is unsatisfactory.
