Comments: St. Bees is a relay of Caldbeck

The St Bees site is on a golf course, and these pictures were taken with golf balls whizzing past my ears!

The town is on a sheltered bay, and is screened from the nearby Whitehaven mast, and from Caldbeck/Sandale. The St Bees site receives from Caldbeck, it seems, despite having clear LOS to Whitehaven. Where we parked, near to the St Bees mast but the other side of a hotel building, the best reception was from Northern Ireland and North Wales! We also had a signal on ch59 from the Republic. Manx Radio was the best FM signal.
