Radio Tircoed won their community licence in Febuary 2007. The went on air full-time on 1-Dec-2008, having previously run as an RSL for 28 days in July.
The transmitter aerial is on top of the Tircoed Village Hall, and from there the signal covers Pontarddulais, Gorseinon, M4 J45 to J48, Gowerton and Hendy. Unofficially the signal gets out a little further, and has been heard in the Clase, Cockett, Pembrey and along the North Gower coastal areas.
The village of Tircoed is situated just off the A48 between Penllegaer and Pontlliw.
The grid ref of the Radio Tircoed transmitter location is SN620001
The site is owned by the Tircoed Village Trust/Radio Tircoed






It's early 2010 and Phil wrote to tell me about the upgrade at Tircoed - they're now running mixed polarisation from an array of four slanted, folded dipoles:
