Comments: Wattsville is a relay of Wenvoe (via Mynydd Machen)

Just down the hill from the Mynydd Machen transmitter, Wattsville is a low power relay covering parts of Crosskeys and Wattsville itself. These villages lie in the bottom of the valley, in the shadow of the hill on which Mynydd Machen stands.

Transmissions are from two pairs of vertical crossed log periodics, pointing
roughly east and west down the valley. RBL is via a single vertical log periodic on Mynydd Machen, the aerial cylinder of which can just be seen from the site poking over the brow of the hill above. The antenna is mounted quite low down, and appears to be looking right through a large tree growing just above the site - however Mynydd Machen is quite a high power
station so maybe there's plenty of signal and it makes little difference.

Looking north from behind the site up the valley towards Abercarn and Ebbw Vale...
