Waunfawr is on the western edge of the Snowdonia mountain range in North Wales, near Caenarfon, and covers an area to the south east of the site within a valley that is shielded by hills from the nearby ntl Arfon transmitter, the top of which is visible from the transmitter site, and provides the contribution feed.
