The transmitter is actually located on a United Utilities bore hole site on Column Road, which overlooks the town. There is no access, nor even a glimpse of the mast from the main entrance, so I had to make my way across land at the back of the site on various footpaths. These don't take you level with the mast, which is why all the shots appear to be looking up at it.
Here you can see the town in the foreground, followed by the Dee Estuary/Irish Sea in the background. The tip of the North Wales coast (Point of Ayr) is just visible on the left, and Hilbre Island on the right.
