Wheatley is situated on the course of a disused railway line in the Hebble valley a couple of miles to the north west of Halifax town centre. There is no easy access to the site so I had to take the pictures from a nearly road - as such the quality leaves a little to be desired.
The first two photos show the mast from two different angles and the third shows the upper part of the mast with a little more detail. The location at the top of the mast of a single Yagi pointing at Emley Moor is a little unusual as is the array of 8 vertically polarised broadcast aerials. The site is relatively low (by Halifax standards) and is a little shadowed from Emley Moor which probably explains the height of the receive aerial.
Wheatley covers the Hebble valley from the district of Mixenden almost to Halifax town centre - this area is blocked from both Emley Moor and the Halifax relay by the hills to the south of the valley.
