Ystumtuen: To the north, it covers the large village of Ponterwyd: to the south, the hamlet of Ystumtuen (containing only a few houses) and the rather larger tourist-trap of Devil's Bridge. Possibly also isolated houses further afield. The site itself is merely plonked on the shoulder of an isolated hillock: there is no vehicle access to the site, and indeed not even a footpath: presumably the maintenance team have to park in a layby on the road and scramble up over rough grassland carrying all their gear.

The equipment cubicle. The base of what looks like an old cabinet is in the foreground: not known if it formerly contained another user's gear (no evidence on pole for this) or if it was formerly a broadcast equipment cabinet: if so, this must have been an uninviting site in bad weather.

the edge where the land falls into the Rheidol gorge.
