ANALOGUE TV TRANSMITTER INFORMATION
Since the Ch5 transmitter network is quite different from the existing one providing Ch1-4 attempting to produce an integrated and easy-to-understand listing has proved quite interesting. For clarity and completeness some low power Channel 5 transmitters are listed below their nearby main station, though in most cases they are clearly not rebroadcasting that station.

NOTES:
The list above includes all the UK's high
power tv transmitters. Those named in black will be transmitting all 5 channels, those in blue will not
transmit Channel 5 in analogue form, while those in red are new or existing sites which will broadcast Channel 5 only.
The final two columns in the tables below show the maximum effective radiated power (E.R.P.) for each station. This is given in kW. It should be noted that most transmitting aerials have directional characteristics, but that the directional pattern of the Channel 5 transmissions may well be different from those of the other 4 networks from the same site as they are using different radiators.
The list also includes details of some low power relay stations where these are relevant to the introduction of new Channel 5 transmissions. There are literally hundreds of other low power relay stations transmitting Channels 1-4 which are beyond the scope of this list but you can find comprehensive listings at the the BBC Reception Advice web site.
Most UHF tv receiving aerials are designed to cover a specific range of UHF channels and are divided into groups according to the table shown below.
| AERIAL GROUP | COLOUR CODE | CHANNELS |
| A | RED | 21-35 |
| B | YELLOW | 37-53 |
| CD | GREEN | 46-68 |
| E | BROWN | 39-68 |
| K | 21-48 | |
| W | BLACK | 21-68 |
The Aerial Group shown in the tables below is the type of receiving aerial which has been recommended in the past for reception of transmissions from a given site. Those marked in the tables above in magenta are those which I contend are now no longer optimum if you wish to try to receive all 5 channels using one aerial. (See Channel 5 transmitters 'at-a-glance' for recommendations).
