February and March 2005 - work begins on the temporary replacement mast

Here - in these photos taken Feb 2005 - we see work in progress at the Peterborough site. Various redundant horn antennas have been removed from the BT tower and temporary FM and DAB aerials remain in place. Meanwhile, over the road, a new, full height, temporary mast is being constructed. We understand from the BBC that aerials will be in place on this mast in time to restore full power services in time for Easter. Meanwhile the old collapsed mast still rests where it fell last year.

BELOW: We move on now to 24-Mar-2005...
The temporary mast is now complete and the VHF aerials for FM & DAB are being added.

Dick also reports that the old (collapsed) mast has now been cut up and removed from the site and that the full extent of the damage to the buildings can now be seen.
