Horizontal Yagis added for Seahaven FM

I think these were added around the time Ofcom allowed an increase in power for community radio stations. I took these photos back in March 2019 and at the time assumed they were a temporary installation to test any change in coverage but having recently revisited the site both Yagis are still held in place with rope and cable ties!

This captures all the antennas on the MCA mast. At the very top is the redundant marine VHF DF array with folded dipoles on the left hand side for marine channels 0, 16, 67 and others. On the north side is the Seahaven FM equipment, the upper VHF dipole is for the RNLI and the lower VHF and UHF dipoles were installed in the 2000s by SECAM as an emergency repeater for a Labour Party conference in Brighton.

Taken looking East with both horizontal Yagis and the original vertical phased dipoles. The vertical dipole on the left (North) side of the mast is for the RNLI paging system and the lower right hand dipole one of the MCA marine channels.

East facing beam, the rope support can be seen in front of the second director.

Fixing method for the boom support,a knot and a some cable ties.

More intricate knot work higher up the mast on the East facing yagi rope which has been tied off round the RNLI dipole boom.

The West facing Yagi.

Rope support on the West facing Yagi.

More rope and knots on the West facing Yagi.

The original phased dipoles on the cranked boom. Since the last update the tube holding the phasing cables and combiner has slipped probably due to age and the very high winds experienced on the cliff top. Some of the cable ties holding the coax have also broken off and that fixing bracket obviously wasn't galvanised!

The 5GHz link facing the studio in Seaford, this is attached to the roof the NCI lookout adjacent to the MCA mast. The Seahaven transmitter is in the ground floor room of the lookout next to the rainwater tank.
