Fellow enthusiast Pete Chambers, in collaboration with station manager Malcolm Hancock, has produced a highly informative and comprehensively illustrated 24-page booklet about the Rugby masts.

Pete, who recently appeared on Carlton Television's local programme The Heart of the Country, first became fascinated by the masts after a change to brighter navigation lights meant they suddenly became visible from his home. The Crystal Palace Foundation have produced a VHS/PAL video of the film called 'The Phoenix Tower' showing the construction of the BBC Crystal Palace Television Tower. 

The video is 40 minutes long and is 95% in colour. It has never before been available on video and only rarely shown at film shows and probably not since the demise of distributor Viscom in the late 80s. (Neither Huntley Film Archives or the BFI have copies of the film.)

The Foundation has obtained permission from Balfour Beatty and Pirelli (who now own various bits of the defunct BICC company) and are retailing it exclusively at £14.95 with a free photocopy of the booklet that originally accompanied the film.
