BILSDALE MAST MAJOR FIRE
|
Since the fire on 10 August 2021 and subsequent demolition of the original mast at the Bilsdale Transmitting Station, TV and radio services were restored to most homes
across the Northeast and North Yorkshire during the following months using a combination of temporary and existing transmitter sites. More information of the incident and details of the temporary transmitters can be found
here.
Construction of the replacement 306m mast was completed in the spring of 2023 and TV services went live on 22 May 2023. Radio services will follow at a later date, but in the meantime they continue to be transmitted from the temporary
transmitters on the 80m Bilsdale Tower and from Eston Nab.
Information about the reconstruction can be found at www.bilsdalemast.co.uk
