BROADCAST ANTENNA PHOTO COMPETITION

RFS announces the winner of its broadcast antenna photo contest

Amsterdam, September 14, 2010 - RFS congratulates BBC Engineer Steve Longhurst, winner of its broadcast antenna photo contest, held to mark the switchover to digital broadcasting in the United Kingdom (UK). The contest results were announced during IBC2010 in Amsterdam.

Longhurst receives £200 in gift vouchers for his aerial photo of the majestic Bressay antenna site in Scotland’s Shetland Islands. The site is located on the Ward of Bressay, the island’s highest peak, and includes RFS’ 16 UD-HP main and 8 UD-HP reserve antennas.

Thanks go out to all photo contest participants, with a special mention going to finalists Wayne Brewer, Paul Martin and Richard Young.

Everyone who entered the competition will have the opportunity to join a tour of RFS’ Haddenham antenna factory at a date to be announced soon. Tour participants will gain first-hand knowledge of the processes required to build and test a large broadcast antenna. There will also be a presentation and a Q&A session on the technical design of broadcast antennas.
