These photographs were probably taken during an open day at the site.

At the time the mast supported a Band III array for ITA 405 line transmissions and the newly-installed UHF "skew fire" array - and essentially nothing else!






At the very top we can just see the Band III "pod" antennas - see early photographs of Croydon for detail. Just below is the then new UHF array consisting of eight tiers of panels - this remained in use until DSO over 40 years later.
