I visited Carnmoney Hill in December 2010 when DAB was brought online. This is the first time I've been back since and in that time the DAB antenna appears to have been re-engineered with a large angled reflector placed behind it and the two dipoles offset further out from the tower. Curious to think what RF issue caused the change?
Other works at the site include a planning application for a UHF array at the top of the tower, so there could be further change at this site before DSO in October 2012.
There was also talk of this site being line fed due to the un-predictable nature of the Rx antennas, the FM feed being particularly horrendous as such it appears BT have installed two new ducts so it remains to be seen what will occur.
