THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY
NAISH HILL
Photos by Peter Bigwood, Wayne Brewer and Mark Carver | Page last updated: 2023-06-20 |
The 64m stayed mast at Naish Hill was built by the IBA for the West Wiltshire ILR service which launched as Wiltshire Radio on 12-Oct-1982 on both 936 kHz and 97.4 MHz. The FM frequency was changed to 102.6 MHz on 9-Oct-1986. BBC Wiltshire Sound launched on 4-Apr-1989 on 104.3 MHz. DAB services are transmitted from the adjacent 45m tower. Service dates: Digital One 12-Oct-2000; West Wiltshire 7-Feb-2003; BBC 11-Sep-2003; Sound Digital 29-Oct-2018. Peter Bigwood visited the site first, then Wayne Brewer in Sept 2010, and finally Mark Carver in June 2012. Nothing seems to have changed between the three visits, so this page shows a mixture of shots from all three contributors. |
