GLENGORM
Photos by TCPD and Philip Bragg | Page last updated: 2023-04-08 |
TCPD found some photos of Glengorm, mostly taken in 1984 when the horizontal log periodics were replaced by a Marconi mixed polarization panel antenna. Glengorm was originally a BBC landlord site which entered service with three TV channels in July 1980 to serve a population of about 700 people. Channel 4 was added on 12-Dec-1986. Four programmes of BBC FM radio entered service in September 1980, transmitting with horizontal polarisation only. Conversion to mixed (circular), polarisation was in November 1984. Radios 1 & 4 were added on 3-Dec-1993. |

Rx antenna on right side of tower. Lower log periodic for VHF Band II and above a BBC log periodic for UHF reception of Torosay. |
This one is dated 1993 when there are a few additional antennas evident on the structure. And so to Glengorm today or, to be more exact 7-Jul-2006... |
