TRISLAIG

Photos by Martin Briscoe Page last updated: 2021-05-29

Trislaig / Trioslaig / Treaslaig / Trislaig

Trislaig / Trioslaig / Treaslaig / Trislaig (spelling varies) is on a hill across Loch Linnhe and carries the Nevis Radio transmitter on 96.60 MHz. The tower used to be owned by either Highland Council or Northern Police but could have had ownership transferred to someone else now.

There is no road up to the site and there is a complete ban on any normal wheeled vehicles being used on the hill. About ten years ago a car park was built a short way up the hill and then a rough track for soft-tyred vehicles like Argocats or track-laying vehicles.

All these photographs have been taken from the opposite side of the loch.
