LLANDDONA

Llanddona 1969

Three pictures probably taken around 1969 when Band I still running.

There were numerous links through the site during the Investiture of the Prince of Wales in 1969, everything was duplicated and triplicated then another backup "just in case"! There was even a high power UHF link to Winter Hill, I thought this was from Great Orme's Head but there seems to be one here at Llanddona so not sure if were two in use or whether it was direct from Llanddona to Winter Hill.

Many RT channels and one backup channel that was never tested so they no chance of it being intercepted and a jammer prepared.

An Eagle Tower tipped over - I think it was there at the time of the Investiture but not sure.

These are old transparencies and quite dirty.

The site had mast lights, not turned on when the picture was taken.
