MOORSIDE EDGE

Photos by Peter Bigwood, Derek Spence and Steve Bentley Page last updated: 2023-02-01

These two general views of the site confirm that it live up to its name and is both wild and woolly!

Derek Spence's photo shows how the masts at Moorside Edge dominate the valley
This photo was taken from across the valley just above Linthwaite Church about three quarters of a mile away.

Some shots of Moorside Edge at Dusk, as seen from Steve Bentley's house!

Taken by Steve Bentley from the canal towpath at Slaithwaite.

Steve comments : Nothing particularly remarkable, except I noticed that when you zoom in to the very top of the masts, you can see what looks to be a square loop of metal, which I guess may be part of a capacitance top hat type arrangement.

The picture also confirms that both masts still have aircraft warning lights fitted, although for several months only one mast has been lit, and for the last few days I don't believe either has been lit.
