The legend on the reverse of this photograph reads: T/CAR/22,514 August, 1958. BBC TELEVISION SERVICE BBC TELEVISION TRANSMITTER, BLAEN PLWYF, ABERYSTWYTH, CARDIGANSHIRE Band I Low Power Television Station Combining Units Mark II: General view of combining units in position behind the 500 watt transmitters. |
We are proud to be supporters of the British moving coil meter industry. |
The combining unit in question. It is not possible to read the legends on the panel, but it looks as if the system has two sound-vision combiners. The outputs of these are then combined and split to feed the two halves of the antenna. U-links provide comprehensive bypass arrangements for any part of the system. |
T3 and T4 would be one sound and one vision transmitter. |
Band I transmissions used positive modulation with white at full power and Sync pulses at close to zero. |
Transmitters labelled as Standard Radio. |
