July 2013 - New ILR installation

After twenty five years as a redundant site, Perth VHF is back in action as the new home for Heartland FM's relay for the town. The new installation makes use of a refurbished transmitter hut, and cardioid Tx aerials on the wooden pole, running 250 W ERP vertical polarisation. The old transmitter for Heartland (Perth North Side Queens Bridge) has been closed down, and the new installation takes its feed from the Pitlochry transmitter. The service was transferred to the new site on the afternoon of 9th June 2013. Our photos come from none other than Heartland FM's Chief Engineer.
