TEIGNMOUTH

Photos by Nick Tucker Page last updated: 2022-09-03

2007

This is the larger of two relays in Teignmouth, the other being Coombe just half a mile to the west. The relay is necessary due to the awkward topography of the town and the provision of a service to low-lying areas of Shaldon on the other side of the Teign estuary.

Teignmouth entered serice with 3 UHF TV channels in November 1979. Channel 4 was added in October 1984.

DSO was on the 8th and 22nd April 2009.

BBC National radio (FM and DAB) comes from Holcombe Down, a site somewhat higher above sea level but not far away.
