DUNDEE LAW

Photos by David Foord Page last updated: 2013-12-21

The Dundee Law site was formerly a BBC Band I relay on channel 2, which opened on 6th July 1964. Closed 5th April 1982. There were no broadcast services from this site until the more recent introduction of Wave on 102.0 MHz, from 30th August 1999.

The first photo is just a scenic shot of the area taken from the south side of the Tay. The tower is not really visible from this distance but it shows a good view of Dundee itself with 'The Law' - at one time a volcanic feature - prominent placed in the middle. It is also home to the local war memorial (WW1 & 2) and is just visible to the left of the tower. The Law is a popular spot for visitors who come to admire the surrounding scenery. The mast itself is not actually fenced off, allowing visitors to walk in and around the base of the structure.
