| Merseyside (or Allerton Park as it is known in all the usual references) is situated in the middle of Allerton Municiple Golf Course, in a leafy part of Liverpool just 4 miles from the city centre. This tower replaced the original mast which had been used to transmit Radio Merseyside from the 1967 launch. Radio Merseyside transmissions, now with slant polarisation, commenced on the 24th January 1975. ILR Liverpool (Radio City) launched on the 8th February 1975. City Talk was added on the 28th January 2008. |
