Baltasound may seem like the name of an ILR station before it got rebranded as Heart but it does in fact hold the honour of being Britain's most northerly broadcast transmission site... Originally a BBC landlord site, UHF TV channels 1 - 3 entered service on the 3-Dec-1980 to serve a population of about 1000. Channel 4 entered service on 17-Apr-1987. DSO was on the 5th and 19th May 2010.
