THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

CHIDEOCK

Photos by Mark Carver Page last updated: 2014-04-14

April 2014

Mark Carver visited the site in April 2014, there had been some developments since Michael's visit in 2001

The site is a lot busier now, telcos Orange, T-Mobile (now merged to form EE) 02 and Airwave are present. The three by four dipole stacks mentioned in the 2001 planning notice, appear to be Tetra aerials.

Overview of the broadcast related equipment.
Dual HP Logs, are the RBL feed from Stockland Hill, the single HP log is the Tx aerial serving Morecombelake, and the VP log in the sunshine, is the Tx aerial serving Chideock village.

The dish is a V-SAT link, for telemetry, (quite common for remote relay stations).

The dish is the only noticeable addition since DSO

Lots of cabins, the original broadcast cabin is far right.
