Local TV aerials - April 2014

All photos apart from the last one from Martin Brown.


Crown Castle logo removed, but yet to get its Arqiva replacement.




The Nottingham local TV aerials, about halfway up (151m). 4 tiers of crossed shrouded log periodics pointing north (350°) and east (90°).

BBC and Digital One DAB aerial at 230m.


Nottingham local DAB aerial at 137m on the shaded north side of the mast.


In the shade on the north side of the mast, the band II regional FM aerial (Smooth FM).


Upper UHF receive trough pointing towards Sutton Coldfield. Originally used for the programme feed in the 1970's before the creation of the East Midlands region.


Lower UHF receive trough and twin Yagis pointing towards Sandy Heath. Was used for BBC RBS feed. The SHF antenna on the left was used for the BBC1 & 2 programme feed from the BBC Nottingham studios.
