MULL HILL

Structure renewal

The site, which dates back to pre 1984, had two wooden poles as it was an Electricity Board Comms site right through to 2007; Energy Communications then took control of the site for the Energy FM service. It was originally intended to use a site known as "The Howe", but as Mull Hill became available plans for The Howe were abandoned.

The original two wooden poles were not used as the structure was condemned. The station transmitted temporarily from an end fed dipole until the structure was renewed.

The two poles were replaced in 2012 and the TX aerials were mounted to the top. A Second broadcaster was added in 2013 (3FM 104.2 MHz).

Work starts on the foundation of the new poles

The folded dipole is a reserve tx aerial.

The site is fed via RBL from Carnane (Douglas) with a second aerial on Snaefell for RBS.
