OXENHOPE

| This is a dependent of Emley Moor and sits on the edge of Oxenhope Moor overlooking the Worth Valley which is famous for its Bronte connections and the Worth Valley Railway as featured in the film 'The Railway Children'. Oxenhope serves the southern part of the Worth Valley, most of which cannot receive the Keighley relay due to screening by local hills. Originally an IBA landlord site, TV channels 1 - 3 entered service on 6th September 1974, with Channel 4 from May 1986. DSO was on 7th and 21st September 2011. |
| The first picture shows the mast amongst the gathering clouds which emptied their contents on me shortly after taking these pictures! |
| The second picture shows the directional UHF broadcast aerial which only radiates to the north. |
| The third picture shows the horizontally polarized trough which looks at Emley Moor - this is at the top of the mast as Oxenhope does not quite have line of sight to Emley Moor despite being nearly 1200 feet above sea level. |
| A second trough which points at Keighley is shown in the fourth picture - this is located almost at the foot of the mast which presents no problem as Keighley can easily be seen from Oxenhope. |
| The fifth picture shows the middle part of the mast, including aerials for the police airwave service and for mobile telephones. |
| The sixth picture shows the view down the Worth Valley from Oxenhope. If you look carefully you can just make out the Keighley relay on the hills at the right of the picture, just above and a little to the left of the windmill. |
