SUTTON COLDFIELD

Photos by Martin Brown Page last updated: 2018-03-07

The Final Chapter. Take 2: Oct 2014

Martin visited the site on a sunny day in October 2014 and was able to take some clearer pictures of the local TV aerials.

The interleaved BBC national & Classic FM band II and National DAB band III DAB aerials.

The top 4 tiers of band II panels (159m) transmit all the local FM radio services, except Free Radio (96.4 MHz). In the middle are the now disused DAB aerials (155m) of the West Midlands DAB mux, which closed on 27/8/2013. The bottom 2 tiers of band II panels (150m) are the Tx aerial for the ILR service on 96.4 MHz.

The Birmingham local TV aerials. 6 tiers of crossed logs at 132m.

Left UHF Yagis facing Winter Hill, band II Yagi facing Holme Moss.

Right UHF Yagis facing Waltham, band II Yagis facing Oxford.
