BURNHOPE

Photos by Martin Brown Page last updated: 2024-11-07

August 2015

The update list called for detailed pictures of the aerials. So on a sunny morning, here they are:

Two sets of DAB aerials. Originally the four dipoles at the top transmitted the former Northeast England DAB service, while the two, 5 element Yagis transmitted Tyne & Wear DAB. As part of the Framework Agreement between the multiplex operators and OFCOM to expand the coverage of the local DAB services, the Tyne & Wear multiplex was scheduled to transfer to the four tier dipole stack at the top. mb21 has been informed us that this change has now been implemented. (Feb 2018).

Former Channel 5 aerial panels.

At 205m, these crossed band II Yagis transmit the ILR services on 97.5 MHz, 101.8 MHz and 105.3 MHz.

At 189m these crossed band II Yagis transmit the 97.1 MHz ILR service.

At 152m, these crossed Yagis transmit the 102.8 MHz ILR service.
