| DAB services (BBC and D1) started in June 2015 using dipoles at the top of the tower used for FM services The adjacent tower has also taken on a new lease of life with several cross-channel SHF links added since the site was last photographed in May 2011. We understand these are for "High Frequency Trading" - there is some advantage over fibre in terms of latency (see Financial Times article and video linked below) |
| Viewed from the south, the tower supporting the new DAB aerial plus the two panels of four spear-head aerials for FM is in the foreground. It is the last remaining of the original four WW2 radar transmitter towers. The sign, warning of guard dog patrols, and the perimeter lights date from the site's Cold War years There appears to be no change to the Band II arrangements |

| Editor's note: the planning application included the now standard ground-mounted dish for the BBC DAB programme feed and also a 0.3m SHF dish at 16.5m, bearing 246 - this could be a feed for D1 from Dover The DAB transmitters were to be located in an existing building: "concrete bunker within blast wall & banked ground" - another legacy of this site's past use |
