THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY
SWINDON MF
Photos by Alex Lakey | Page last updated: 2016-07-14 |
04-Sep-2002: Here as promised are some site pictures of the temporary antenna at the Swindon MF site - these are the structures now in use - by the end of today all remains of the old site will be bulldozed. The change over from the original to the temporary site occurred on 02-Sep-2002. The temporary antenna takes the form of a supported two wire sloping wire antenna from a redundant 24m high lighting column. A "T" matching network has been used to match this single service and the transmitter has been relocated the original cabin. Technically it performs very well: the antenna efficiency of this temporary wire antenna is 40% as opposed to the original top loaded mast which was 50%. |
