BLAENPLWYF

Photos by Martin Brown Page last updated: 2024-11-04

August 2016

No new aerials to see but a nice sunny morning in West Wales to take some pictures of Blaenplwyf. As you will see, some work was taking place around one of the stay anchors.

At the top the main UHF TV aerial. This five sided array has no panels on the west side towards Ireland.

The interleaved BBC band II & III aerials. Note how some of these 90° Alan Dick & Co. band II panels facing the camera are staggered. This is the east-southeast face. The panels on the left are facing southwest.

Four tiers of Radio Frequency Systems 120° band II panels for Radio Wales. These are facing northeast (40°) and south (190°).

4 tiers of Sira band II aerials used to transmit both ILR services and Classic FM, with 2 band III dipoles between the top two band II tiers for Digital One.

The D1 band III dipoles, close up.

On the left is a UHF log periodic pointing at Presely used for RBS.

Scaffolding being erected around one the the stay anchor points.
