THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

HIGH HUNSLEY

Photos by Martin Brown Page last updated: 2016-10-19

September 2016

At the end of 2015 work was undertaken to upgrade the DAB aerial system at High Hunsley so that it could transmit additional DAB multiplexes. Up to this time only the BBC national DAB service was transmitted from here. Since then both national commercial multiplexes have been added and the Humberside local DAB multiplex moved here from Cave Wold with the channel change to 10D on the 1st September 2016.

As can be seen from my pictures, the band III DAB aerials looks unchanged, so I assume that the work may have been to upgrade the feeders and power dividers. No change to the band II panels either.

The Lincolnshire DAB multiplex was added on 19th October 2016.

This band II Yagi is pointing towards Belmont. It may be used to provide BBC national RDS data for Radio Humberside.

These 2 vertical band II Yagis are pointing west-southwest. It is likely that the upper one is pointing towards Emley Moor (253°), and the lower towards Holme Moss (250°). The Emley Moor aerial may be providing the programme feed, or an RBS for Capital FM (105.8 MHz).

Satellite dish providing the ETI (programme), feed for the three national DAB multiplxes, with the familiar green cabin, with GPS cone aerials, behind.
