HOO

There are no fewer than three transmitting sites on what the locals know as the Grain Peninsular at Hoo on the Medway estuary. This is one of the AM sites. It was originally built to transmit BBC Radio Medway on 1034 kHz, (later 1035 kHz and Radio Kent), until the BBC had to give up that frequency on 18-Mar-1994. The original AM transmitter was at the Jezreels tower site in Gillingham. INR 2 (Virgin Radio) was added on 30th April 1993.

There is also another AM site and an FM site, both linked at the bottom of the page.
