THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY
MALVERN
Photos by Lawrence Mayes | Page last updated: 2018-09-23 |
The Malvern transmitter must be unique because it is possible to look down on the tower when still standing on the ground. The tower is sited on the lower flanks of North Hill of The Malvern Hills well below the summit. Although the hill behind the tower is steep it is moderately easy to climb it and look down. [Ed]. The UHF transmit aerial was due to be replaced at Malvern during the week, 14th - 18th November 2016. The new aerial was brought into use during January 2017. See the link to an article in the Malvern Gazette. The new aerial was required for the lower frequency UHF channel allocations here, post 700 MHz clearance. |
