| Located near Potters Bar in Hertfordshire, Brookmans Park serves London and a broad swathe of the South East of England with AM radio. It was an NGW site, and one of the BBC's earliest transmitting stations. Today the only BBC service it transmits is R5 Live. Previously it broadcast the BBC Light Programme on 1214kHz (247m) and the BBC Home Service on 908kHz (330m). Subsequently it broadcast BBC Radios 1, 2 and 3 and BBC Radio London. |

| The transmitter building - in the view of the site entrance - is very grand and imposing. Can you imagine such a transmitter hall being built today? The new DAB aerials for London's local service DRg at the top of the tower which can be seen to the right in the photo above, and to the left in the photo below, which gives a good overall view of the site. |
| The T aerial suspended between masts C & D on the south side of the site. Both 200 ft towers, although from this viewpoint we can only see Mast C in the distance. These transmit the Absolute (1215 kHz) and Lyca (1458 kHz) services, with the slim 300ft (Mast E), acting as reflector and reserve for both services. This is the same configuration that was used for the Light Programme and Radio 1. |
