Adam: "This site is on a hill to the East of the city. It's almost impossible to see it through the trees from nearby. The single horizontal log is pointing at Pontop Pike and the 2 vertical transmission logs point towards Durham itself. Aerials using the relay in the city centre are few and far between even though the site is widely visible from most places. Its main purpose seems to be to cover the area of housing directly below". Durham entered service in December 1979 to serve 1250 people. Channel 4 was added on 17-Oct-1986.
