THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

BALLYGROGGAN

Photos by Bill Wright Page last updated: 2017-06-17

June 2017

Bill visited Argyll FM's Ballygroggan site in June 2017

Ofcom data states the Tx aerial is 18m agl, and directed due north. The yagi at the top seems slightly more than 18m, but it is looking due north, so this is probably the Tx antenna

The RBL feed is from Campbeltown (Baraskomill), just north of east of the site, so we have to assume the Rx yagi is the four element VP one, looking away from us (just below the UHF antenna with large parabolic reflector)

Close up of the suspected Tx yagi, not sure what the cylinder cable-tied to the boom is ?

Probable Rx yagi

Gloriously utilitarian !

Nothing to do with broadcast use (we think?)
