THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY

MILLTHROP

Photos by Martin Brown Page last updated: 2017-08-13

August 2017

Millthrop is up on the hillside to the north of Sedbergh. The town of Sedbergh seems to be well served by the Sedbergh relay. I couldn't see any aerials pointed towards this transmitter, but as the name suggests, this relay is intended to serve the village of Millthrop, which is about a mile south of Sedbergh. The 350m peak, Holme Knott, to the southwest of Millthrop obstructs the path from the Sedbergh transmitter.

The town of Sedbergh in the foreground with the village of Millthrop in the distance. The hillside on the right of this view will be the obstruction for reception of Sedbergh into the village of Millthrop.

Four tiers of crossed UHF log periodics for transmit pointing roughly southeast and southwest.

Telemetry dish and receive log periodic pointing towards the Sedbergh transmitter.

The Sedbergh transmitter, 4 miles away, and wind turbine beyond.
