THE TRANSMISSION GALLERY
BRIGHTON (WHITEHAWK HILL)
| Photos by Martin Brown | Page last updated: 2017-10-28 |
Martin visited Brighton (Whitehawk Hill) two and a half weeks after the UHF cylinder was replaced. This was on the afternoon that the skies turned orange in much of England and Wales as a consequence of ex-hurricane Ophelia passing over Ireland. Some colour correction has been applied to the pictures to remove the orange tint.

Left is how it looked in September 2015, right is October 2017. Note that the Channel 5 aerial has now gone and two log periodics have been added on the right, and point southeast. These transmit the three PSB multiplexes on separate channels to fill a null on the new main cylinder's radiation pattern.

Round to the southeast facing side of the tower, and a new panel aerial has been added. It is facing Newhaven to provide an RBS feed. Newhaven is line fed these days.

The new null fill transmit aerials.

Under the handwritten "VIRTUA" label it reads "People, Passion, Performance"

Add mb21 photographers.
