The UHF cylinder at Reigate was replaced at the end of October 2017 in preparation for 700 MHz band clearance. The three PSB multiplexes here are expected to move into band IV. |
Peering through the gates the old cylinder lying on the ground in the compound. |
The new cylinder. Note that the interim DTT panels have been removed, although the brackets and screening panels remain. |
Four tiers of band III phased folded dipoles. These were used to transmit the London 2 DAB service until June 2013. This multiplex now shares the interleaved DAB aerial with all the other DAB multiplexes. |
The interleaved band II FM radio, and band III DAB aerial system. Both FM radio services, and all of the DAB multiplexes share this aerial system. The southeast pair of panels are those facing us here. |
From this angle you can see that there are no band II dipoles on the right (northeast), face of the tower. There are none on the northwest face either. |
The now disused shrouded log periodics remain. They were used for to transmit Channel 5 and interim DTT muxes C & D. |
Crystal Palace receive aerials. Quite an elaborate array considering Crystal Place is only 13 miles away. Used for RBS, Reigate being line fed. |
