STOCKSBRIDGE

Bill wrote: "The site is very high with marvellous views in all directions. The local farmer tells me that when York Minster was on fire he could see it!

Stocksbridge was originally an IBA landlord site which entered service in July 1980 to serve 1550 people.
Channel 4 was added on 29-Aug-1986.

This photo was taken from a lay-by on the A616 which was featured in a recent ITV programme about
South Yorkshire police, where they were identifying speeding motorists. The road is an absolute death trap."

[Editor's note: enforcement is now primarily by cameras measuring average speed]

At the time of Bill's visit there were three other structures with the large BT tower still carrying large dishes.

The TV relay was probably as-built - no evidence of site sharing.

The crossed logs serve the area south of the site which is screened from Emley Moor.
